Metronome

BPM 120

1
Tap the "Tap tempo" button several times to set the speed from your own taps. The first beat of each bar is accented.

What is this?

A metronome produces a steady click at a chosen tempo, measured in beats per minute (BPM). Musicians use it to keep time while practising scales, songs and rhythms.

Set the tempo by dragging the slider, or tap in your own rhythm with tap tempo. Choose how many beats are in a bar, and the first beat of each bar clicks with a higher accent so you can hear the downbeat.

FAQ

How accurate is the timing?

The click uses the Web Audio API, which schedules each beat to the millisecond — far more precise than a simple JavaScript timer.

What BPM should I use?

Common tempos: 60 (slow), 90–120 (moderate), 140–200 (fast). Start slow, master the part, then increase the tempo.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page is loaded, the metronome needs no internet connection.
