Turn any text into ASCII art
Type a word, pick a size, then copy the art.
What is ASCII art?
ASCII art is a picture made from text characters — in this case, plain hash (#) symbols arranged into letters. It has been used for decades in terminals, email signatures, forums, chat rooms and social media bios, because it works anywhere text works: no images, no fonts, no rendering required.
This generator renders A–Z, 0–9 and spaces as a classic 5×7 block font. Type any short word or phrase, choose a size to scale it up, and the art appears instantly. Everything is computed in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
How to use it
Type your text into the box (keep it short — up to 20 characters). Pick small, medium or large. The ASCII art updates as you type; tap Copy to put it on the clipboard, then paste it into a chat, bio, terminal banner or code comment.
FAQ
Which characters are supported?
Uppercase and lowercase letters (A–Z), digits (0–9) and spaces. Other symbols are shown as a blank space.
Will the alignment break in chat apps?
It uses a monospace-style hash pattern, so it lines up best in monospace contexts like terminals and code. In proportional fonts it may look slightly uneven.
Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, and it runs fully offline in your browser.
